What To Expect
Forge your own survival knife in the heart of Brooklyn during this hands-on workshop at Craftsman Ave. For just $275 per person, immerse yourself in a 4-hour experience—no prior knifesmithing expertise needed! Under the guidance of expert instructors, you’ll transform a simple piece of rebar into a practical and fully functional utility knife, uniquely crafted by you. Heat steel to red-hot in a propane forge, then hammer, shape, and refine your blade with classic tools like the anvil and grinder. Feel the thrill of quenching your knife in oil—the same dramatic process seen on “Forged in Fire”—making for an unforgettable photo op. Enjoy a break with local pizza and refreshments in the cozy lounge, then finish your masterpiece by wrapping the handle and sharpening the edge.
