What a unique experience! I always wondered what I was like to graffiti but was too much of a polite teenager to get into it, this was a super fun way to live out some early rebellious dreams! It’s much harder than it looks, but our teacher was really helpful and chill. Luckily the day cleared up, it was fun to do part of the activity outside and the rest indoors. Large bodysuits were provided so as to not mess up clothes. Overall a very fun, out of the ordinary activity to try out. Special shoutout to our guide Laurene!

Dom is a born storyteller! Uncovering all the layers of a place and weaving them into one tale of the ground beneath your feet. In the space of a couple of hours we didn’t just learn about the rides we could see — we learned about the rides we COULDN’T see, the engineering genius and the adventurous madness that created them all, and the singular humans that brought it all together. The story Dom told us was a rollercoaster, infused with wit and character, and best of all curiosity. Every story brought more questions from us, and he answered them all with the thoughtfulness of someone who really cares. We left talking about when we can go on one of his other tours. I joined this experience for free as a tester through Partiful in exchange for my review. It was a lovely experience and I appreciated the host’s story of how she became interested in sketching, and the research she had done on the location.In the beginning, there was an orientation encouraging us to focus on what drew your attention, and at each stop, there were prompts to guide your sketching, which I found helpful. I appreciate that the group was kept small and intimate. At the end, we had a serendipitous chat with a longtime local couple who shared their stories on their history in the area.

Comprehensive overview into different Brooklyn neighborhoods
This is a wonderful and tour of several neighborhoods in Brooklyn, including a few that most tourists don't venture into. Dani has put together a very thoughtful (and busy) half day jaunt that showcases the history of the borough, as well as what living there now looks like for different communities of people. There is a good amount of walking and several subway/bus rides to cover a lot of ground, but there is a quick stop for a slice of pizza or snack at a cafe which is appreciated. Having lived in NYC a long time ago I was very interested in learning more about Brooklyn today (as it has changed a lot) and this was perfect. I recommend this for tourists who want to see the "real" New York and get beyond Manhattan.
