What a wonderful way to experience the intricate stories, history and flavours of Brooklyn! So many places we visitied we would have just walked right passed if not on the tour. Trying the unique flavours which are tied to the history of each unique neighborhood made the whole experience more meaningful. And all the food was fab! 3 hours of snacking and learning and we definitely walked away with full bellies! Greg was a real gem - we thoroughly enjoyed his exceltional knowledge and stories - such a great host!

Dom is a born storyteller! Uncovering all the layers of a place and weaving them into one tale of the ground beneath your feet. In the space of a couple of hours we didn’t just learn about the rides we could see — we learned about the rides we COULDN’T see, the engineering genius and the adventurous madness that created them all, and the singular humans that brought it all together. The story Dom told us was a rollercoaster, infused with wit and character, and best of all curiosity. Every story brought more questions from us, and he answered them all with the thoughtfulness of someone who really cares. We left talking about when we can go on one of his other tours. The guided tour of the Brooklyn and Dumbo neighborhoods with Fred was exceptional, as he was able, through very detailed explanations, to make us feel the atmosphere of these neighborhoods, which are rather quiet and rich in history with "Brownstone" type architecture. We immediately took to his "punchy" style, his kindness, always inclined to give us good tips for dining or discovering new places. We ended the tour at a boxing gym. It felt like we were in Rocky. I joined this experience for free as a tester through Partiful in exchange for my review. It was a lovely experience and I appreciated the host’s story of how she became interested in sketching, and the research she had done on the location.In the beginning, there was an orientation encouraging us to focus on what drew your attention, and at each stop, there were prompts to guide your sketching, which I found helpful. I appreciate that the group was kept small and intimate. At the end, we had a serendipitous chat with a longtime local couple who shared their stories on their history in the area.
