They were really great. The guide, Eliot, was super helpful and kind. The hunts were super helpful and unlimited. Yippee!

We learned a lot. Jacob was great as our tour guide. Maybe use an iPad to show the photos, so they can be better seen.

What a unique experience! I always wondered what I was like to graffiti but was too much of a polite teenager to get into it, this was a super fun way to live out some early rebellious dreams! It’s much harder than it looks, but our teacher was really helpful and chill. Luckily the day cleared up, it was fun to do part of the activity outside and the rest indoors. Large bodysuits were provided so as to not mess up clothes. Overall a very fun, out of the ordinary activity to try out. Special shoutout to our guide Laurene!

Lucy Stearns was our guide and she made the experience fun with all her knowledge of local sights. She chose great food options for tasting. I would highly recommend this walking tour as a great way to experience Brooklyn Heights and the Dumbo area.

Alison’s passion for cooking authentic food from her home really shines through in the dishes she guides you through. I first met her on her Flushing food tour, where she introduced me to incredible local spots—and this class felt like a perfect continuation of that experience.I was surprised by how many fresh herbs go into Yunnan dishes—and even more impressed that so many came from her own garden. It added a depth and brightness to the food that made each dish stand out.Everything we cooked was unbelievably tasty—I kept eating long after I was full. I brought home leftovers, but the noodle soup didn’t last. I finished it that same night because it was just too good!

It was a lovely experience and I appreciated the host’s story of how she became interested in sketching, and the research she had done on the location.In the beginning, there was an orientation encouraging us to focus on what drew your attention, and at each stop, there were prompts to guide your sketching, which I found helpful. I appreciate that the group was kept small and intimate. At the end, we had a serendipitous chat with a longtime local couple who shared their stories on their history in the area.

Full of history, context and exposure to the hidden gems and unique characters of the neighborhood, such as the Pinball Museum, Widow Jane Bourbon Distillery, Golden Anvil Sculpture Garden and artist Tony Cuonzo, Steve's Key Lime Pie, Red Hook Winery, a lived-in barge and Waterfront Museum, and more. If you like tours that are interesting, informative and entertaining, Dom and Made in Brooklyn tours is the best.
