Brian did a great job of walking us through charming Astoria. The Greek market/grocery was our favorite stop. Several customers at the store stopped to tell us about the best feta, or olive oil & the best Greek restaurants in the neighborhood. We sampled foods from every corner of the world & learned the history of the area. The different waves of immigration brought new cuisines. We have taken many food tours & we were glad we took the subway N train over to Queens. We expected grungy & found a charming neighborhood with tree-lined streets. A refreshing break from Manhattan.

The food on this tour was excellent, but equally memorable was the cultural aspect. We learned about the history of Harlem and current challenges. Being no stranger to NYC, the tour hit some highlights of Harlem that were familiar to us but that we had never actually seen before. Our tour guide, Weyu, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this experience!

We had a little bit of a conflict trying to set up the tour but Merrily was very helpful and flexible in making sure my wife and I were able to get a tour.It was fabulous. Not keep in mind we are fairly art knowledgablea nd galleries and tours are something we already enjoy, but even for many novices, this is a great way to be introduced to a variety of artists and get a taste for how the art world works.She picked out a range of artists, so for most people, you will find art and artists that speak to you. She was very knowledgeable about each gallery, the art, and the artists, so Merrily was able to give insight to each one.We will be back later in February and will do out best to take another tour with her.

A tour I always wished to take, but it didn’t exist.
I’ve been to NYC many times and wanted to know a bit more about the buildings, why they were built, who built them and why they look the way they do. I’ve bought books to read at home, but never read them - I was too far removed from the buildings themselves. Having the opportunity to walk to the buildings (and sometimes go inside them) and learn the context in which they were built - it was exactly what I have wanted for many years. It just didn’t exist. Now it does and I couldn’t have wished for a better guide than Ivan. Btw we did a family (3ppl) visit first and then I came back for an additional solo tour. There is no better testament to my satisfaction than that.

Guided walk of Midtown with Frederic. The group consists of only three people, which is great—practically a private tour! Frederic is a very pleasant guide who is easy to interact with. A French expat and a New Yorker by adoption for many years, he is an official guide and knows how to share his attachment to this extraordinary city where anything is possible. A perfect narrator, he complements his historical explanations with anecdotes that are both amusing and relevant. The hours pass quickly. The kilometers add up, and fatigue sets in, but the joy of visiting Manhattan is worth it. You can take the "Voyages en Français" excursions or more specifically "New York en Français" with complete confidence. We recommend it without hesitation.

The perfect way to discover The High Line and its architecture!
This tour with Merrily was superb from start to finish, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.We booked direct with Merrily online and communication confirming the booking and about when and where to meet was faultless.We walked on and off The High Line, discovering places we would never have found on our own, and stopped to study and understand many buildings we might well have just walked past. Merrily has a deep knowledge of the area and its architecture, and is engaging to listen to and learn from.It turned what would have just been a very pleasant walk along the High Line, into a fascinating and immersive experience that we thoroughly enjoyed!

Fantastic experience!
What a fantastic experience. I got great shots and really got to know my camera. It was a cloudy evening but I learned that any type of weather can be advantage. The instructor was knowledgeable and experienced and really knew how to draw out my artistic side. Plus she had an answer to any photo questions I could throw at her, and it was also a lot of fun! I highly recommend this tour!
